Rutherfordium is a highly radioactive element with a half life of about 48 minutes(Rutherfordium 267). Supposedly, it is to have similar properties to Hafnium and behave like a heavier analogue of it. It was synthesized in 1964 and named after physicist Ernest Rutherford.
Due to its high radioactivity, Rutherfordium doesn't have any uses outside of research.Â
