Ozone is an allotrope of Oxygen where 3 Oxygen atoms are bonded to each other. This form of Oxygen is more reactive than plain O2 gas. This means that if the concentration is high enough, it can damage your lungs. Liquid Ozone is a deep blue, whereas Oxygen is a light blue. Ozone is an essential part of our atmosphere and life on Earth because it block UVB radiation. It accomplishes this by having thew ray hit the molecule, and its energy is used to rip it apart, and then it rejoins later. This is why we should protect our ozone layer in the atmosphere. As an anion it is known as an Ozonide. Some examples of inorganic Ozonides are Potassium Ozonide, Sodium Ozonide, Benzene Ozonide, and a few others.
