The Lanthanide series, also known as the Rare-Earth metals, is located on the first row below the periodic table. They all are very similar, filling their f orbital. Though they may seem boring, they are very versatile and useful for a wide array of purposes. Many also posses unique qualities. Most of them are generally obtained through processing the mineral Monozite, which is also rich in Thorium.
