Tellurium is located on the fifth period and the sixteenth group in the periodic table of elements. It is a silvery white solid with a melting point of 449 degrees Celsius. Tellurium can be considered a member of the metalloids. It can form up to 2 bonds. Tellurium is notorious for having an unpleasant smell. Even more so than Selenium or Sulfur. Tellurium was identified in 1783 by Franz Muller.
Tellurium is occasionally used in alloys to make them harder. There is also use for it in the creation of solar panels, and dvds.Â
