You find most of it in the form of sand or clay which are Silicon dioxide, and Aluminium silicate.Â
Silicon is an abundant element on Earth, making up about 28% of our crust. Its compounds have been used historically as early weapons in the form of flint, building materials such as granite, cement & concrete in the form of sand & clay, and many more. Today, Silicon is used in manufacturing computer chips.
