Hydrogen is the first element in the periodic table. It is located in the first period and the first group in the periodic table of elements. It is a colorless gas with a boiling point of -253 degrees Celsius. It can form one bond, turning into H+. Hydrogen was identified in 1766 by Antoine Lavoisier. Hydrogen is the most common element in our universe, being created in the big bang. It has several other isotopes which have been used a lot. These are Deuterium and Tritium. The latter is radioactive. The "normal" Hydrogen that you normally think of is sometimes known as Protium when being compared to other isotopes.
Hydrogen is plentiful in compounds on earth. It is in water, DNA, and pretty much every important molecule in your body. Hydrogen is also being explored as a fuel source. In the near future, we may be driving around in hydrogen powered cars, and planes. Hydrogen is already being used as a rocket fuel.
