Antimony is located on the fifth period and the fifteenth group in the periodic table of elements. It is a silvery metallic solid with a melting point of 631 degrees Celsius. Antimony is a member of the metalloids . It can form up to 3 bonds. Antimony was discovered around 1600 bc. It has several isotopes all of which are really unique. 

Antimony has been in use for a long time. It was used as a mascara by Egyptians around 1600 bc. It was also used by the Babylonians to as a glaze for ornamental bricks. Today it is used as a semiconductor, alloys, and flame retardant materials.
