Darmstadtium is a radioactive metal with a half life of 14 seconds (Darmstadtium 281). In theory, Darmstadtium will have similar properties to Platinum. Darmstadtium was named after its place of discovery; Darmstadt. It was synthesized in 1994 by the Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung or GSI.

Darmstadium does not have any uses outside of scientific purposes due to its radioactivity and short half-life.
