Dubnium is a heavy, radioactive metal with a half-life of 1.2 days (Dubnium 268).  It was discovered in 1968 by a team led by Georgy Flerov at the Russian Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, which is in Dubna, Russia. 

Due to its high radioactivity and short half life, Dubnium doesn't have many uses outside of scientific research and exploration.
