Radon is located on the sixth period and eighteenth group in the periodic table of elements. It is a colorless gas but is orange-red as a solid. It boils at -62 degrees Celsius. Its was discovered in 1900 by Friedrich Ernst Dorn.

Radon has some use in cancer therapy due to its radioactivity and short half-life of about 3.8 days.
