Xenon is located on the fifth period and eighteenth group in the periodic table of elements. It is a colorless gas with a boiling point of -108 degrees Celsius. When exited, it glows blue. Xenon has very few compounds since it is a noble gas. However, it can react with Platinum Hexafluoride, and a few other chemicals and elements. It is also very dense. It was identified in 1898 by William Ramsey and Morris Travers.
Since Xenon is a dense gas, it is used in Xenon Ion Propulsion Systems to maneuver satellites. It is also used in car headlamps, flash bulbs, and a few other areas which require instant illumination.
